How I make Mondays feel like Wednesdays
The 60-minute Sunday system that changed everything...
Hey there,
Your Monday morning chaos is completely preventable.
For almost 10 years, I started every week in reactive mode - dealing with weekend emails, surprise meetings, and urgent requests. My Mondays were a mess of playing catch-up, which bled into the entire week. Then I developed a 60-minute Sunday system that transformed my Mondays from chaos to clarity.
Just joining us? This is Pt 4 of 4 on mastering work-life balance as a high-performing seller. Here’s 1-3 in case you missed them:
Today we'll cover:
The exact 60-minute Sunday routine that saves my week
How to make Mondays feel like mid-week
The 3-part system for weekly preparation
Let's turn your Sundays into a superpower.
3 Steps to Transform Your Week in Just 60 Minutes
The key isn't working longer - it's working systematically. Here's the framework:
Step 1: The 20-Minute Cleanup (8:00-8:10 AM)
Start with a clean slate:
Clear all notifications
Process all inboxes to zero (personal & work)
Review any highlights from the week*
Organize Google Drive/downloads
Why it works: Starting your week with inbox zero and clear tasks eliminates Monday morning anxiety. Don't skip this step - it's the foundation for everything else.
*I use a read-later app called Readwise and an idea capture app called mymind. I review any highlights or ideas I may have captured each week.
Step 2: The Forward Look (8:10-8:20 AM)
Review your entire week:
Calendar audit (can any meetings be eliminated?)
Key meetings prep (what pre-work is required?)
Potential conflicts (move or reschedule)
Schedule any pre-work (add any as tasks)*
Step 3: The Project Reset (8:20-9:00 AM)
This is where the magic happens. Instead of getting overwhelmed by your project list:
Review every active project (both work and personal)
For each project, identify exactly ONE next action
Be ruthless about archiving or "incubating" projects that aren't currently essential
This simple approach prevents decision paralysis and ensures continuous progress on what matters most.
Bonus: Live walk-thru of my weekly review
IMPORTANT NOTE: The key is consistency. Whether it's Sunday evening or Friday afternoon, pick a time when you can focus without interruption.
That's it.
Here's what you learned today:
60 minutes of planning eliminates 5 hours of chaos
Use this system to kill the ‘Sunday Scaries’
Prevention beats reaction every time
Start this week. Even implementing just one part of this system will improve your week dramatically.
